Thing#17 "Sandbox"
This was really a fun exercise. I added by blog to the Favorites Blog site and to Favorite Animal site. There is a lot of potential here in sharing ideas, thoughts etc. WOW!

Thing # 16 So What's in a Wiki?
This was a fun discovery. Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki was impressive. It is indeed a great sharing and collaborative tool. We can certainly use it in many productive ways e.g. sharing program ideas, book talks etc. There are unlimited uses of this resource.
"Teaching and learning online with Wiki" by Naomi Augar was another interesting post.
Wiki opens up the concept of "Libraries without boundaries" which I find appealing and can see it benefit the library professionals all over the world.

Thing # 15
I enjoyed reading John Blyberg's "11 reasons why library 2.0 exists and matters."
My thoughts on L2 can be summed up in Sarah Houshton's definition of L2:
"Libary 2.0 simply means making your library's space (virtual and physical) more interactive, collaborative, and driven by community needs. Examples of where to start include blogs, gaming nights for teens, and collaborative photo sites. The basic drive is to get people back into the library by making the library rrelevant to what they want and need in their daily lives...to make the library a destination and not an afterthought."
Public Libraries play a important role in the community and have a dual obligation of providing the basic service such as early literacy skills etc. as well as keeping up with Librarian 2.0. At LCPL we are providing service at most varied levels i.e. Babygarten to Blogs! This is only the beginning...

Thing #13 Tagging
I enjoyed discovering "Tagging." This would have been so useful to me when I was in school and had to write research paper etc. I can see the uses of this extremly useful tool. Enjoyed looking at the video etc. I have to say "Learning 2.0" has been a boon, it has increased my awareness of these wonderful & useful sites. I specially enjoyed looking at the pictures we tagged!
